Our roads are being torn up by people doing donuts or burn outs with their atvs etc. It is very expensive to repair our roads! Please do not treat our roads as a playground! It is up to all of us to make sure any of our guests or family members understand this as well. If extra road work is needed due to negligence, then expect the yearly dues to increase!

DEFENSIBLE SPACE
It is always important for a lot owner to be FIRE AWARE.
Fruitland experienced a huge fire risk due to dry conditions in our area in 2018. That risk came to fruition this summer as the Dollar Ridge Fire swept through our area with such great force and magnitude.
On Saturday, October 20, 2018, Bandanna Ranch HOA met with Nathan Robinson and Travis Wright (representing the Fruitland VFD) to discuss fire prevention options for the Ranch. The topic of developing a Defensible Space around dwellings was discussed. If you are interested in learning your specific lot's requirements, we highly recommend you contact Travis D. Wright. Travis is an Assistant WUI Coordinator for the State of Utah, Dept. of Natural Resources. Travis will explain what Defensible Space entails and will gladly work with the property owner to bring your lot into compliance. Basically, Travis works with fire crews so that, when they are not working/fighting a fire, they will build the agreed upon Defensible Space on your lot as needed. This is a FREE service to the lot owner. The expenses incurred will be covered via a Grant from the Fire Service to aid in preventing fires in our area. Travis owns his own "chipper" that can be used for clearing your lot of dead wood and other fire hazards, etc.

FIRE DANGERS on the RANCH
Very warm temps, low RH, and strong winds will combine, resulting in elevated fire danger. The strong variable winds will continue, and due to recent absence of rain, fine and medium size fuels are nearing record low dryness for this time of year. It is not advisable to do any outside burning or campfires.
Be safe.
DUCHESNE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COMMUNITY WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS PLAN
Catastrophic wildfires in the Intermountain West are growing in impact and cost. Recognizing this, the Utah Legislature passed Senate Bill 122 (Wildland Fire Policy Updates) in 2016, which establishes a program that aims to lower the financial risk for communities that implement prevention, preparedness, and mitigation actions that are proven to reduce the risk and costs of wildland fire. The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands (FFSL) has been charged to administer the program. Duchesne County has committed to participate in this program and selected Rural Community Consultants (RCC) to assist the county in preparing a Community Wildfire Preparedness Plan (CWPP). The following three-step process is being implemented to develop the CWPP, including: data gathering, public input, and plan adoption.
Wildfire Plan
Duchesne County has a trailer removal program that provides a financial incentive for property owners to remove derelict mobile homes or trailers from their property. The county pays up to $750.00 for removal of single wides at least 40 feet long and up to $500.00 for trailers under 40 feet long. Double wides receive up to $1,000.00. The owner may do the work or hire a contractor.
Tipping fees at the landfill are reimbursed.

Unauthorized activities on the ranch
Bandanna ranch is experiencing a large number of unauthorized activities. weapons are being discharged on the ranch (a strict violation enforced by the Duchesne County Sheriff's Department). Additionally, fireworks are being set off on the ranch, even in these very dry and dangerous conditions. Both activities are placing the ranch at risk, more importantly, placing the lives of all lot owners at grave risk. This can not be tolerated. If anyone sees these type of violations occurring, please contact the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office as soon as possible. Any evidence you can gather, such as pictures and/or video of the incident, and date and time of occurrence, will be appreciated. However, do not place yourself in danger. It is imperative to abide by the rules of the ranch for the safety of all residents. remember this, as soon as you enter through the gates, you are on private property. Respect others rights as you respect your own. Thank you!
